Experience

I started my career in 2002 as a finance and business reporter for a Dutch national newspaper. In 2004, I moved to South Africa for a temporary job at The Cape Times. When my contract came to an end, I was hired by an online publication as their editor /content writer / travel writer / photographer / translator / etc. Currently, I am a freelance journalist and I am working for a wide variety of publications in and outside South Africa. My most important client is Het Financieel Dagblad, which is basically the Dutch equivalent to the Financial Times. I am their Southern Africa correspondent. Other publications include both inflight magazines of Emirates, Leadership Magazine (South Africa), Mining Magazine (SA), Black Business Quarterly (SA), Energy Forecast (SA), Mobility (SA) and Business Live (SA). Apart from writing, I am a photographer.
